Our story
We left Cairo in 2015 and never looked back.
Dayra means circle. It began on a beach in Nuweiba with three friends, an acacia that was bare when we arrived and turned green again as the people came, and a dog called Zeus who decided he was in charge.

Dayra grew into a circle of musicians, artists, backpackers and wanderers who call it home, however short they stay. In 2022 the circle moved north to Ain Sokhna, an easier drive from Cairo, and kept the music going.

More nights, more artists, and the soul of the events brought back by the sea.
Where it began
The Nuweiba camp is closed now, but its nights are part of who we are.

For Zeus, 2014–2021.
Zeus was the camp's guardian, and his memory is still part of every Dayra night. Today the camp managers are his successors; pets are welcome.
